Songs for Silenced Voices: a ten minute tragic opera
This moving opera inspired by creative interventions with Liverpool's
homeless community, highlighted the plight of the ex-servicemen and women
who make up a quarter of Britain's homeless community. The show premiered
for 8 performances over 2 days, in a disused shop in Liverpool City Centre's
St John's Shopping Centre and we have now secured support from Arts Council to develop the opera further.
In April, we commissioned writer Dic Edwards and composer Patrick Dineen and look forward rehearsals starting in November.
Smoke and Mirrors
Following a successful run in Liverpool last summer we are looking at
touring this piece nationally in 2011. The originally devised script is
currently being re-worked by
Robert
Farquhar to bring a wider national resonance; and will be available
in September along with a CD of songs from the show. If you are interested
in the show coming to your venue please get in touch.
