Our Work
There are three main areas to our work
Professional Productions: site-specific shows that explore pressing social and political concerns and transform non-traditional urban places into magical performance spaces.
Participatory Programmes: which give local people the opportunity to develop skills and make their own work that articulates their own ideas and concerns.
Practice as Research: Conference papers, lectures and publications that interrogate Collective Encounters’ work and contribute to the wider development of theatre for social change.

"Collective Encounters' work is, in my view, a
model for the ways in which arts activities can be used to reinforce civil
society and, ultimately, democracy itself."
